Write to the Prisoners:

Read tips on writing to prisoners.

Media Outreach:

Write or call your local media. Ask them to do a story on the defendants, the prisoners of conscience or other political prisoners. Those responsible for the training of human rights abusers and for the use of torture manuals at the SOA have never seen a jail cell from the inside while 237 human rights activists were sentenced to over 100 years in prison and 52 years of probation and home confinement (some currently being served). Write letters to the editor.

Join or build a local SOA Watch group:

- Make calls and/or send letters to your Representative urging her/him to support legislation to CLOSE THE SOA/ WHINSEC!

Consider engaging in nonviolent direct action:

Learn more about political prisoners and join the struggle against the prison industrial complex:
Check out and get involved with the work of grassroots organizations like Critical Resistance, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, the Prison Activist Resource Center (particularly their info on prisons torture, which works to connect the torture scandals breaking out daily regarding U.S.-run prisons in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Guantanamo to the practice of torture by police and prison staff inside the U.S.), the Anarchist Black Cross Network and the Nuclear Resister.
