Your help is needed to expand the reach of the movement to close the SOA/WHINSEC

The Fall 2007 issue of “iPRESENTE! - the Newspaper of the Movement to Close the SOA” is

scheduled to come of the presses in September 2007. Our goal is to distribute at least 50,000 copies throughout the United States. To reach that goal, we need you to bulk order copies of iPRESENTE! now and to distribute them in your area in September.

The 12 page newspaper (union printed, on recycled paper with soy ink) shapes up to be a great tool for our movement. A lot of the information in the fall issue of iPRESENTE! will focus on the mobilizing efforts for the upcoming November Vigil and the non-violent direct action at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia (November 15-18, 2007), it will include an analysis of the SOA/WHINSEC vote in Congress that fell only 6 votes short of cutting funding for the school, pages in Spanish, and movement reports from Latin America and North America.

We want to expand the network of activist distributors around the country to get the paper in as many hands as possible. Please also ad your phone and email contact information. You will receive the box(es) with your copies of iPRESENTE! in early September, shipped directly from the printer to your home.

Excellent bulk distribution points for the newspaper are community centers, coffeehouses, universities, libraries and progressive bookstores. You can also give copies to friends, neighbours and strangers, hand it out at meetings or protests and use it for your general outreach work in your community. The more people know, the more people will speak out or as South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela put it: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
