Chronology of the SOA 16 Trial in Columbus, Georgia

Saturday, January 27:
The SOA Watch activists organized an Anti-War Protest at the gates of Ft. Benning to coincide with the mass mobilization to end the war in Iraq taking place in Washington, D.C.

Sunday, January 28:
SOA Watch activists joined together at the Howard Johnson's Presidential Ballroom for the "Festival of Hope" to honor and celebrate the sixteen defendants.

Monday, January 29:
The SOA 16 together with supporters march to the U.S. Courthouse and hold a press conference on the courthouse steps before trial begins. The trial ends at 3pm, the sentences range from 1 to 6 months in federal prison, with the exception of Katherine Whitney Ray who as a minor is served with 1 year probation and 50 hours of community service.
