Presente is always looking for drawings and cartoons for its print edition. If you are an artist or know someone who can contribute this way, please get in touch with us and send us your artwork, photography, and other forms of visual media to be considered for publication. Due to the space constraints, we usually solicit articles on specific topics, but we also encourage writers and activists to independently submit queries, manuscripts.
All submitted drawings, cartoons, artwork, and photographs, are reviewed by the editors. Because of the volume of material we receive and our space limitations, we are often unable to publish material that is otherwise appropriate for the magazine. We try to get back to artists and photographers within a month or so after receiving your work.
We depend on submissions from people who are active in the movement to maintain the quality and diversity within its pages. Presente features writing from people directly involved in the campaign to close the SOA and to end the racist system of violence it represents, and is aimed at an audience primarily composed of other movement folks. Therefore, we try and stay away from jargon-filled or overly academic pieces. Our editors review and respond to every submission and each query letter.
Articles in Presente run from 300-600 words in length; main features run up to 1500 words. The editors reserve the right to reduce any assigned length.
Articles may be accepted for publication as submitted; they may be accepted contingent upon certain revision and/or adjustments in length; they may be held over to another issue; or they may be rejected.
Because of the volume of manuscripts we receive and our space limitations, we are often unable to publish material that is otherwise appropriate for the magazine. We are committed to responding to authors within one month after receiving manuscripts.
