2009 Lobby Days

Grassroots power within the United States unseated 35 Members of the House of Representatives who voted to keep the SOA/ WHINSEC in operation, drastically heightening our chances to close the SOA/WHINSEC through legislative action.

November 2007

On the weekend of November 16-18, thousands will gather at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia for the Vigil and the Nonviolent Direct Action to Close the School of the Americas. Take a Stand for Justice!

Strategy Meeting 2007

Activists representing groups from around the country will come to Washington, DC for a day of reflection, discussion, and strategizing around the campaign to close the School of the Americas (SOA/WHINSEC) and building a more just world.

April Fast 2008

April 22-25, 2007 will be a time of fasting for SOA Watch.; a time to organize fasts in your community to bring attention to SOA/WHINSEC victims and an opportunity for each of us to commit ourselves to closing this place of injustice.

November 17-19: 22,000 Gathered to Demand Closure of the SOA/WHINSEC. Coordinated actions in 10 different countries.

Thousands held vigil at the gates of Fort Benning to stand up for justice and human rights.

2001 Vigil

Despite new challenges this year in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the war in Afghanistan over 10,000 people traveled to Columbus for November 17 & 18 to speak out against the terror training that takes place at the SOA.
